OUR PASTOR

 

Pastor Craig L. Brown was born to Estell Sr. and Lillie Rose Brown in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the 14th day of September in the year of 1965.  Raised and educated in Milwaukee, Wisconsin through the completion of High School in 1983 from Whitefish Bay High School.  His formal education began at Alabama State University and continued at William Rainey Harper College in 

Palatine, Illinois where he excelled academically and athletically as a student and star basketball player.

 

Pastor Brown continued his education at St. Martin’s University, Lacey, Washington, Faith Evangelical College and Seminary, Tacoma, Washington, earning his Bachelor Degree in Religion. Pastor Brown also completed a Post-Bachelor Degree Program at Seattle University, Seattle Washington, and was awarded The Certificate of Pastoral Leadership of Excellence. Because of his thirst to know more and lead effectively, Pastor Brown continued to seek more education and earned his Master of Science in Leadership from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix Arizona, where he is currently pursuing his second master degree in Christian Studies & Pastoral Ministry/Leadership.  

 

Pastor Brown is a decorated Infantry Soldier who served over 20 years in the United States Army. Pastor Brown has seen combat first hand with two tours in Iraq and has been a key leader in various Peacekeeping Missions in Bosnia, Kosovo and the Ukraine.  He has trained, led and followed some of the greatest men and women in the United States Armed Forces.  Pastor Brown ended his military career with the 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division Fort Lewis, Washington the last Combat Unit to exit Iraq in 2010 and retired December 31st, 2011.   He was awarded numerous decorations and citations because of his commitment to serve his country. 

 

Pastor Brown was called into the ministry in January 2000 at Abundant Life Church of God and Christ in Kitzingen, West Germany under the leadership of Elder Brian Keel, where he served as Armor Bearer and Finance Minister. In September 2001 he was called to leave Germany and was reassigned to Fort Lewis, Washington to continue his military career and his growth in ministry under the leadership and mentorship of Bishop Anthony R. Obey of New Life Baptist Church Lacey, Washington, where he served as Bishop Obey’s Armor Bearer, Executive Director of Spiritual Growth and Executive Board Chairman for over 13 years. He also co-partnered with his wife 1st Lady Minister Angela R. Brown as part of a dynamic pre-marriage ministry team at New Life Baptist Church.  Pastor Brown received his license to preach December 10th, 2001 and was ordained on June 25th, 2006. 

 

In March 2007 Pastor Brown was deployed to Iraq where God would use him in a mighty way. He was appointed, by his peers, at Camp War-Horse, Baquaba Iraq to Pastor the Gospel Service.  The first service was held on October 1st, 2007 with just 10 Soldiers and Civilians. Over the next several months the War-Horse Gospel Service averaged over 100 Soldiers and Civilians weekly under Pastor Brown’s dynamic leadership. Due to Pastors Brown’s commitment to preaching the undiluted truth of God’s Word, many souls were saved and strongholds were defeated!  

 

In October 2014 Pastor Brown was selected as the 3rd Pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Portland, OR.  He preached his first message titled “Game Changer” on November 15th, 2014.  Pastor Brown’s Motto is “We Live for Him” 2nd Corinthians 5:15.  Which he says is merely: Sacrificing self to see lives lived for Jesus! In July 2015 Pastor Brown was selected as 1st Vice Moderator of the Union District Baptist Association (UDBA), Portland OR. The Target Corporation currently employs Pastor Brown where he is an Executive Group Leader for Outbound Distribution. Pastor Brown’s desire is to be all God wants him to be through trust, love and obedience. His will is to glorify God in all that he does by effectively sharing God’s word to unbelievers and encouraging those who have already accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. His goal is to minister the pure and unadulterated Word of God to all that will have an ear to hear about the Redemptive and Righteous Love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  

 

Pastor Brown is the proud father of one beautiful and talented daughter, Ajai Shadae Brown, Grandfather to Ashton Lamar Tyson and most of all the husband of over 27 years to the most beautiful woman in the world, 1st Lady Minister Angela Rena Brown.
